Windham Fabrics is privileged and pleased to participate in the Quilts of Valor program. Quilts of Valor is an extraordinary program that started in 2003 and has been growing strong since. The program consists of devoted quilters who have made over 32,000 quilts for our country's honorable troops. Their mission is to “cover ALL those service-members and veterans touched by war with Wartime Quilts.”
Windham Fabrics has designed two beautiful quilts as part of the Under Our Wings program. Under Our Wings is a coaching program that teaches and promotes rookie non-quilters how to quilt. Through this program rookie quilters will be instructed on how to make their very own Quilt of Valor quilt with the help of an expert quilter or store owner. The UOW program gives the quilting community a chance to give back in a charitable manner to men and women in our National Service.
The Eagle has Landed by Lauene Smith
One very special attribute of the Windham quilt design that makes it unique from all others is a gold banner built into the large eagle panel pattern design of the quilt. The banner is a space where you can personalize the quilt with the service-member or veteran’s name.
The Quilts of Valor program is an ambitious program that helps aids in the comfort of our brave soldiers and their families and we are so proud to take part in it. For more information about American Valor Fabrics and the Quilts of Valor Foundation, please visit www.QOVF.org.

What a wonderful idea the coaching program is and even better that QOV will benefit. Several of my nephews are serving or have served. I am hoping some day to get all of their children a patriotic quilt made. I've got a good start on them.

I cannot think of a better program. Under our Wings is a fantastic mentoring project that promotes quilting and volunteering while giving back to our service men and women. I am so happy to hear that QOV has Windham's support...it's a truly wonderful organization.
