We have already shown you in an earlier post, the amazing and beautiful Scandinavian-inspired creations of Lotta Jansdotter for her two new collections with Windham Fabrics, Mormor and Sylvia.
With these two collections now arriving in your local quilt store, it is so much fun to see what you all are doing! A quick troll on Instagram will turn up some great inspiration:
From top left (going clockwise): Thatch Roof Quilt by Natalie Barnes of Beyond the Reef patterns, Oven mitts by Karen Lewis (@blueberryathome) of Blueberry Park, Sugar Block by Susan Markos (@bluesusanmakes), Mormor Quilt top by Karen Lewis, Sylvia block by Karen Lewis, Black and White in Color quilt by Ashley Newcomb (@filminthefridge).
This collection is accompanied by two amazing quilt patterns by Ashley Newcomb of Film in the Fridge.
"Black and White in Color" is available as a free download on the Windham Fabrics website:
And "In Flight", a pattern available for sale in your LQS or for purchase as a wholesale customer:
We would like to know what YOU would do with Lotta's new lines! Would you mix them together? Use them separately with solids? Make a single print top? Leave us a comment and you will be automatically entered into a drawing for a giveaway of a FQ bundle of Mormor and Sylvia! Three winners will be chosen Monday, March 17th at 10 a.m.
This giveaway is now closed. Thank you all for entering. The lucky winners are: Sandie, Michelle and Maria!
If you already have this fabric, make sure you show us what you are doing! @windhamfabrics on IG and #windhamfabrics or #mormor, #sylvia and #lottajansdotter.
I definitely have a quilt idea already for the black and whites (just beautiful patterns!), but I'm sure the colors will also play well in my stash and eventually join a quilt or make some great doll clothes!

I've got my eye on a couple house patterns that I would love to use a combination of Mormor and Sylvia with. I'd use the low volume prints for the background of my bright and friendly Mormor neighborhood.

I would make my "first" quilt. I have wanted to learn to quilt for some time. A VERY nice person, well I really shouldn't say her name, Christy Ballard…..:) has offered to help me get started (she may regret that). I can sew clothes for days but have never worked with shapes and designing and I am ready for the challenge. Besides my sewing machine and serger need a work out.

I love these lines! I have been eyeing them for a while now. I have had a Farmer's Wife's quilt on my "to-do list" and would love to take a modern approach with both of these collections. The bold colors mixed with the black and white would be amazing!

I would stash them and use them in a variety of projects as they will work so well with my favourite jewel colours.
