Artisan Cotton Blog Hop
We are so excited to get Artisan Cottons in the hands of some amazing quilters and sewers this week to show you how this fabulous shot cotton sews up!
If you are wondering what a shot cotton is, we are happy to help!! Shot cotton is special because the warp and weft yarns are 2 different colors woven together to create a special depth, a “shot” of color. When the edge of this fabric ravels, you can see a bright contrast to the body of the fabric.
The "savory" colorway you see above features two different colored yarns to lend a somewhat iridescent effect, compared to the "sweet and basic" colorways below which have one colored yarn and one white yarn in the construction, creating a more classic chambray look.
These fabrics work wonderfully well with other quilting weight cottons, so feel free to mix them with other Windham Fabrics. Use for piecing, background or even garments. Be sure to check out these other stops on our blog hop to see the possibilities.
Monday Windham Fabrics
Tuesday Rachel, Imagine Gnats
Wednesday Leanne, She Can Quilt
Thursday Ashley, Film in the Fridge
You can find this quilt pattern on Rachel's site.
